Sustainability Officer
Emma is responsible for the company’s climate and environmental strategy and execution. She oversees all company-wide work to decarbonize Netflix corporate and production operations, to further raise environmental awareness through TV and film titles, and to engage the 200+ million Netflix households on sustainability. She previously led World Resources Institute’s global work on urban efficiency, climate, and finance, served as a Board member for Ecomedes and the U.S. Green Building Council, and as professional faculty at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and Stanford Graduate School of Business where she taught “Intrapreneurship for Sustainability”. Emma has been named a “Bad Ass Woman in Sustainability” by GreenBiz, "top 3 speaker" by The Ecomist Summits, a “one of the most powerful women under 45” and an “urban pioneer” by FORTUNE Magazine, a “sustainability insurgent” by MIT Sloan Management Review, and one of the “Top 10 Women in Sustainability” by American Builders. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Management from Stanford University and a B.A. Hours degree in Human Sciences from Oxford University.
Senior Advisor, Sustainability Science and Impact
Greg is currently Senior Advisor to the Netflix Sustainability Officer, working to develop better science, partnerships, and advocacy to increase the impact of sustainability efforts within Netflix, across the entertainment industry, and in the broader economy through its value chain and peers. Greg recently served as Policy Advisor to the National Climate Advisor under President Joe Biden where he led the development of interagency sectoral strategies and implementation plans to support the clean energy transition and decarbonization across the economy. Before that, he spent more than a decade working with corporations and governments at every level and every continent on strengthening sustainability and climate action through access to better data, tools, and research. He lives in Maryland with wife and two daughters.
Senior Manager, Sustainability & Consumer
Katerina currently leads Netflix’s sustainability and consumer efforts, exploring how best to engage Netflix’s global members on environmental topics. She also teaches a sustainability undergraduate course at the McGill University Desautels Faculty of Management as well as a graduate circular economy course at the European Institute for Sustainability and Innovation. Prior to this, Katerina worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a sustainability and climate change consultant and held numerous roles at Procter & Gamble. She has a Master’s in Sustainability from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University. She serves as a Board Director for Sierra Club Canada. Her contributions to corporate sustainability were recognized in 2020 when she was named a sustainability leader in the annual Greenbiz global 30 Under 30 list.
Director, Sustainability & Operations
Stefan and team are responsible for delivering on two of the company’s public climate commitments: reducing emissions from global corporate and production operations, as well as netting all remaining annual emissions to zero by investing in the power of nature to retain and capture carbon. He previously led sustainability at Tesla and has worked with many Fortune 500 companies as a strategic advisor in the consulting space prior to joining Netflix. Stefan brings a diverse subject matter expertise including emissions reductions strategy & road mapping, renewable energy, electric vehicles, clean mobile power, energy efficiency, carbon credits, and many things in between. He holds an MBA from UC Davis and a B.S. degree in Global Resource Systems from the University of British Columbia.
Manager, Sustainability & Productions
Shannon manages Netflix's sustainability efforts across the corporate, studio, and TV and film production divisions. Shannon has over 10 years experience developing and implementing sustainability programs and strategies to measure and reduce emissions and waste.
Manager, Sustainability and Storytelling
Cheryl is an award-winning writer, director, producer and educator with extensive experience writing, directing and producing for diverse media, including print (fiction, creative nonfiction, journalism, technical writing), theater, video, film, and web content. She has a background in science and technology, including a B.S. in Astronomy from UCLA, and years of experience working as a computer programmer, technical director and educator in 3D visual effects (Robert Abel & Associates, Rhythm & Hues, Inc.). Cheryl is also an activist in the climate action movement, working toward leveraging the arts and contemplative practice in support of sustainable change. She is a co-founder of L.A. EcoDharma and Desert EcoDharma, and is a coalition partner in 350.org and SoCal 350 Climate Action. She is co-executive producer of the L.A. Climate Action Arts Festival, a citywide, multidisciplinary event timed with the U.N. Climate Talks in Paris, Dec. 2015. The festival means to engage artists and broader communities in creative responses to the climate crisis.

Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance (SABA) —
Announced the largest ever collection of deals to purchase high-integrity sustainable aviation fuel certificates (SAFc). Fifteen companies (including
CEF Members JPMorgan Chase, Meta, Morgan Stanley, Netflix, and Samsung)
have committed nearly $200 million over five years to purchase SAFc (equal to about 50 million gallons of SAF). (April 2024)
Clean Mobil Power Initiative — CEF members Netflix and The Walt Disney Company, along with RMI and climate tech accelerator Third Derivative, have launched this initiative to identify and deliver cost-competitive, zero-emissions mobile power at scale for the entertainment industry, including developing alternatives to diesel generators. The initiative will bring together representatives from leading production studios with equipment suppliers and cleantech manufacturers. 5-10 “innovative startups” are invited to apply to participate in a clean mobile power accelerator program, with selection in early fall. More than 100 large companies and investors made a business case to the U.S. Congress and the Biden Administration last week for ambitious federal action on climate. The collective effort, called LEAD on Climate 2022 and organized by sustainability nonprofit Ceres, attracted participants—including CEF members Amazon, HP Inc, Marriott International, Microsoft, Netflix, PepsiCo, Siemens, and Unilever—that count a total of $1.6 trillion in annual revenue and $4.6 trillion in assets under management, and more than 3 million employees across all 50 states.
